What We Build

Home Improvement Services in Bergen County, NJ

One contractor for the whole project. We handle demolition, framing, finishes and the licensed trades in between — so you're not chasing five different phone numbers to get one room finished.

01
Renovated kitchen with a wood-topped island and custom cabinetry in a Bergen County home

Kitchen Remodeling

From a cabinet-and-counter refresh to taking a wall down and reworking the whole layout. We coordinate the plumber and electrician so nothing stalls waiting on a trade.

  • Custom & semi-custom cabinetry
  • Quartz, granite and butcher block tops
  • Tile backsplash, flooring, recessed lighting
  • Island builds and load-bearing wall openings
02
Remodeled bathroom with a glass tile shower and double vanity

Bathroom Remodeling

Waterproofed correctly behind the tile, not just made to look good on day one. Full gut jobs, walk-in showers, tub-to-shower conversions and powder rooms.

  • Custom tile showers with proper waterproofing
  • Vanities, fixtures and heated floors
  • Exhaust ventilation done to code
  • Accessible and curbless shower builds
03
Newly installed asphalt shingle roof shedding rain

Roofing & Siding

The exterior takes the worst of a New Jersey winter. We replace roofs and siding with proper underlayment, flashing and ventilation — the parts nobody sees but everybody pays for later.

  • Architectural asphalt shingle replacement
  • Vinyl and fiber cement siding
  • Gutters, leaders, soffit and fascia
  • Leak diagnosis and storm damage repair
04
Backyard wood deck with railings, a dining table and a grill

Decks, Porches & Patios

Composite or pressure-treated, new build or a rebuild on failing framing. Permitted, inspected and engineered to hold up under snow load and a full party.

  • Composite and PT lumber decking
  • Railings, stairs, privacy walls and pergolas
  • Paver patios, walkways and steps
  • Front porch rebuilds and column work
05
Carpenters cutting trim on a miter saw during an interior renovation

Interior Renovations

Drywall, flooring, trim and paint — the finish work that decides whether a renovation looks professional or looks close enough. We don't leave a room half-trimmed.

  • Hardwood, LVP and tile flooring
  • Drywall, taping and skim coating
  • Interior and exterior painting
  • Crown molding, doors and built-ins
06
Wood roof trusses and framing on a new home addition

Additions & Basements

More square footage without moving out of the town you already like. Dormers, rear additions, garage conversions and basements finished to code with real egress.

  • Rear and second-story additions
  • Dormers and attic conversions
  • Finished basements with egress & insulation
  • Full permit filing and inspection management
How It Works

Four Steps. No Surprises.

The reason renovations go bad is almost never the carpentry — it's the communication. Here is exactly how a project with us runs, start to finish.

01

Walkthrough & Free Estimate

We come out, measure, and talk through what you actually want. You get a written line-item estimate — labor, materials and permits broken out separately.

02

Scope, Schedule & Permits

We lock the scope in writing, give you a start and finish date, and file the permits with your town's construction office before anyone swings a hammer.

03

Build With Daily Cleanup

Dust barriers up, floors protected, and the site swept at the end of every day. You get a progress update and a photo whenever a stage closes out.

04

Punch List & Warranty

We walk the finished job with you and fix the punch list before we invoice the balance. Labor warranty in writing, material warranties registered in your name.

Why Ace Cruz

A Contractor Who Actually Shows Up

Every homeowner in Bergen County has the same story: the guy who ghosted after the deposit, the crew that left the job 90% done, the "verbal estimate" that doubled. We built this company around not being that. Everything is in writing, and the same people who quote your job are the ones on site building it.

  • Written, Itemized Estimates

You see the cost of labor, materials and permits separately. No lump-sum number you have to take on faith, and no change orders that appear out of nowhere.

  • Licensed, Insured, Permitted

NJ home improvement contractor registration, general liability and workers comp — certificate provided with every estimate. We file the permits and meet the inspector ourselves.

  • One Crew, Start to Finish

Your job isn't handed off to whichever sub is available that week. The same team runs it from demolition to the final coat of paint, and you always know who's showing up.

  • Built For North Jersey Homes

Century-old colonials, split-levels, two-families and Hudson County row homes. We know what's behind the plaster around here and price for it instead of discovering it mid-job.

  • Clean Site, Every Day

Floor protection, dust containment and a swept job site at the end of each workday. You're living in the house while we work — we treat it that way.

Questions

Before You Hire Anyone

Do you give free estimates?
Yes. We walk the job with you, measure, and send a written line-item estimate at no charge. The estimate breaks out labor, materials and permit costs so you can see exactly what you're paying for before you commit to anything.
Are you licensed and insured in New Jersey?
Yes. Ace Cruz Home Improvement LLC is a registered New Jersey home improvement contractor and carries general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We provide our NJ HIC registration number and a current certificate of insurance with every estimate — ask any contractor for both before you sign.
Do you pull the permits?
We handle permits and inspections for any work that requires them, including kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, decks, additions and finished basements. We file with your town's construction office, schedule the inspections and see the job through to final approval. Unpermitted work is a problem you inherit at resale — we don't do it that way.
What towns in New Jersey do you serve?
We work throughout Bergen and Hudson County and much of Northern New Jersey, including Hackensack, Paramus, Fair Lawn, Teaneck, Bergenfield, Fort Lee, Englewood, Ridgewood, Garfield, Lodi, Cliffside Park, North Bergen, Secaucus and Clifton.
How long does a kitchen or bathroom remodel take?
A standard bathroom remodel typically runs two to three weeks on site. A full kitchen usually runs four to six weeks depending on cabinet lead times and whether plumbing or electrical is being moved. We give you a written schedule with the estimate and tell you up front what could shift it.
Can I live in the house during the work?
In most cases, yes. We seal off the work area with dust barriers, protect floors and walkways, keep one bathroom usable when we can, and clean the site at the end of every workday. For a single-bathroom home we sequence the demolition and tile work so the downtime is as short as possible.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes. All of our labor is warrantied in writing, and manufacturer warranties on materials such as roofing shingles, siding and composite decking are registered in your name. If something we installed fails within the warranty period, we come back and fix it.
How do payments work?
We work on a written contract with a deposit and progress payments tied to completed stages — never a large payment for work that hasn't happened yet. The final balance isn't due until the punch list is closed out and you've signed off on the walkthrough.
